Pole-Transition Control of Variable-Pole Machines Using Harmonic-Plane Decomposition

Variable phase-pole machines have the potential to extend operational range higher speeds through magnetic pole changes. The state-of-the-art vectorspace decomposition cannot model transient behavior of change for any possible configuration as it creates a discontinuity. proposed harmonicplane theory solves this issue by generalizing vector-space fullest using its discrete Fourier transformation interpretation. indirect rotor field-oriented control is developed harmonic-plane decomposition. A controlled, loaded on wound independently-controlled stator-coils machine two transition strategies shows decomposition-based controller's ability maintain torque in transition. Additionally, controller accomplishes real harmonic injection and balanced steady-state operation.
